Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton took to Twitter Monday to show her support for and defend the costs of keeping President Trump’s family safe.
Clinton voiced her opinion in a response to a tweet by journalist Yashar Ali that noted “some say Trump kids shouldn’t have Secret Service.” Clinton responded, “It makes me very sad to read this & to know that anyone would ever say this. The President’s family’s protection should not be politicized.”

Critics have been vocal on their disapproval of the high cost of Secret Service protection that President Trump’s immediate family requires. A CBS news report showed that costs to protect Eric Trump and his brother Donald Jr. have topped $190,000 since Jan. 1. With First Lady Melania Trump and their 11-year-old son Barron Trump still living in Trump Tower in New York City, taxpayers are paying close to $150,000 per day to protect them.
Response to Clinton’s support for Trump’s family varied.
WHY are citizens paying for secret service protection to Trump's grown children? Why are his aides getting protection-Never done so before

Clinton responded to critics and tweeted: “Understandable. The answer isn’t to endanger Trump’s family-it’s to vote him out of office (& vote in people who will hold him accountable).”
