This is just a little bit traumatic

(Just a little bit of spoilers ahead for the entire ending of “Avengers: Infinity War”)

I’ve watched “Avengers: Infinity War” about 437 times at this point (I’m exaggerating somewhat), and that last few minutes always hits me right in the gut. Thanos snaps his fingers, and a whole bunch of characters I like turn into piles of dust.

The death of Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) always hits particularly hard because he’s the first one to go. And, notably, the first part of him to start turning to dust is his left arm.

So, naturally, Hot Toys decided to make a 1/6 scale action figure of Bucky Barnes from “Avengers: Infinity War” with a “disintegrating arm” accessory. According to the “what’s in the box” part of the product listing: “Two (2) left arms with mechanic details and specially applied metallic painting (normal and turn to dust version)”

So that’s terrifying in text form, but the official listings for the figures are conspicuously missing images of said disintegrating arm. But the internet always finds a way, and pictures of the that incredibly upsetting version of the figure have surfaced in a couple spots. And you gotta see this. Here’s the version with his regular new Wakandan metal arm.

Now here’s the version with the disintegrating arm. Look at it!

I mean, like, come on, man. This seems insane on the surface, but then again we are talking about a figure that will run you $243 before tax and shipping fees. They gotta get some bells and whistles in there to make that price worth paying. And having a version of the figure where the character is literally in the midst of dying feels like it qualifies.

Anyway, if you want this you can pre-order from Sideshow Collectibles right here. Though it’s not going to be out until next summer.
