Charlamagne Tha God will participate in a live therapy session with mental health expert Dr. Jessica Clemons on VH1 next week.
“In Session Live With Dr. Jess,” set to air Monday, Nov. 12 at 10 p.m., is being billed by the network as the “first live session on mental health in television history.”
The “Breakfast Club” radio host will sit down with Clemons, a trained psychiatrist known for participating weekly Q&A sessions surrounding mental health issues and hosting a monthly conversation series that aims to inspire and normalize discussions regarding mental health and wellness.
Clemons, a graduate of Cornell University, has amassed a following of more than 30,000 users on Instagram, aiming to create a space for her followers to discuss, connect and learn about mental health.
“I want to remind people to prioritize all aspects of their health by practicing self-care, taking ownership for emotional issues that negatively affect their lives,” Clemons said in an interview with Essence earlier this fall, “and shifting their mindsets from a passive way of engaging in life to an active one.”
“In Session With Dr. Jess” is produced by Big Fish Entertainment, an MGM Company, with Dan Cesareo, Lucilla D’Agostino and Tommy Cody serving as executive producers. The series is also executive produced by Charlamagne Tha God and Karen Kinney. Lily Neumeyer, Dara Cook and Chris Williams will executive produce for VH1.
