Channing Tatum and his producing partner Reid Carolin have closed a two-year production deal with Relativity Media, the company announced on Friday.
Tatum has starred in Relativity's "Dear John" and "Fighting," and co-stars in its upcoming Steven Soderbergh-directed action movie "Haywire."
Terms of the deal allow Relativity the opportunity to partner on projects that Tatum's unnamed production company develops.
The production company's first project, the high school reunion drama "Ten Year," is not part of the Relativity deal. "Dear John" writer Jamie Linden will direct the film, which will begin production this month in New Mexico.
Tatum will star alongside his wife, Jenna Dewan, who will also be a development partner in the new company. Justin Long, Kate Mara, Chris Pratt and Brian Geraghty ("The Hurt Locker") will co-star in the picture.
The company is also developing "The Contortionist's Handbook" with Greenestreet Films, as well as "What's Left of Us" and "11 Minutes."
Tatum is set to appear in no fewer than four films in 2011. He'll soon be seen alongside Vince Vaughn and Kevin James in Ron Howard's infidelity comedy "The Dilemma," and will follow that with a starring role in Kevin Macdonald's Roman epic "The Eagle." Tatum also stars opposite Rachel McAdams in "The Vow," and will re-team with "Fighting" director Dito Montiel for the crime drama "Son of No One," which will close the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.
