Chadwick Boseman Hunts Cop Killers in Russo Brothers’ ’21 Bridges’ Trailer (Video)

Comic-Con 2019: Suspense thriller produced by “Avengers: Endgame” directors opens in theaters Sept. 27

The heroes the Russo Brothers assembled at Comic-Con this year are all boys in blue. Rather than introducing a new superhero story at their Hall-H panel on Friday, the “Avengers: Endgame” directors dropped a trailer for their gritty cop drama “21 Bridges.”

They did, however, recruit Marvel alum Chadwick Boseman (aka Black Panther) to star in “21 Bridges” as a detective who has a reputation for hunting cop killers. In the new trailer, Boseman goes to work investigating a robbery involving two experienced shooters that left eight police officers dead.

“This is either dumb luck, or a set up,” Boseman’s character says. “There cannot be a version of this where these two aren’t found.”

He then delivers orders to the NYPD to shut down all 21 bridges leading into and out of Manhattan until the killers are found.

Boseman stars in the film alongside Sienna Miller, J.K. Simmons, Taylor Kitsch, Stephan James and Keith David. “21 Bridges” is directed by Brian Kirk, who has directed episodes of “Game of Thrones” and “Boardwalk Empire.”

The Russos are producing the suspense thriller under their AGBO Studios banner along with Boseman, Mike Larocca, Gigi Pritzker and Logan Coles. It’s just one of many more adult-leaning projects that bring along proven “Avengers” talent. Also during their Comic-Con panel, the Russos discussed “Cherry,” a period drama which they intend to direct as a starring vehicle for Tom Holland, as well as a reboot of “The Thomas Crown Affair” starring “Black Panther” villain Michael B. Jordan.

STX Entertainment is releasing “21 Bridges” in theaters on Sept. 27. Watch the new trailer for the film above.
