“Materialists,” writer-director Celine Song’s follow-up to her Oscar-nominated drama “Past Lives,” will premiere in theaters nationwide on June 13, A24 announced Tuesday.
The romantic comedy stars Dakota Johnson and, per the official logline, follows “a young, ambitious New York City matchmaker [who] finds herself torn between the perfect match and her imperfect ex.” That dilemma will be played by Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans. ZoĆ« Winters, Marin Ireland, Dasha Nekrasova and Louisa Jacobson also appear.
Song wrote and directed “Materialists,” and produced the film alongside David Hinojosa of 2AM and Killer Films. The film’s international release is being handled by Sony Pictures Releasing International.
