Quibi has given a series order to “Gone Mental with Lior,” which will feature the famed Israeli mentalist Lior Suchard reading celebrities’ minds live on TV, TheWrap has learned exclusively.
The lineup of celebrity guests includes Ben Stiller, Rob Gronkowski, James Corden and Zooey Deschanel, with more still to be announced.
“Gone Mental with Lior” is executive produced by Ben Winston, Eric Pankowski, Emma Conway, and Suchard himself. Fulwell 73 produces.
Suchard rose to fame after winning Uri Geller’s Israeli television series “The Successor” in 2006 by performing what he calls “supernatural entertainment.” Since then he has appeared on several U.S. programs including “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “Larry King,” “Good Morning America,” “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” and “Dr. Phil.”
He most recently appeared on an episode of NatGeo’s “Brain Games,” on which he guessed the name of Anthony Anderson’s childhood dog using only the context clues from asking simple questions like “what’s your favorite color?”
Quibi is set to launch on April 6. It’ll cost $4.99 per month for ad-supported streaming, and $7.99 for ad-free service. Jeffrey Katzenberg and CEO Meg Whitman recently announced it’ll have 175 new shows in its first year.
Suchard joins a laundry list of other celebrities set to star in Quibi shows that are currently in the works, including Demi Lovato, Bill Burr, Zac Efron, Keke Palmer, Andy Samberg, Joe Jonas, Cara Delevingne and many more.
