CBS to Premiere 'Survivor: Nicaragua' Early

CBS will premiere its new season of "Survivor: Nicaragua" a week earlier than in the traditional premiere week, airing its first episode 8 p.m. on Sept. 15.

While the network did not say why, the show will be airing on a new night this coming season, Wednesdays. Premiering it a week early likely will give it a chance to get some earlier viewing among the other networks' repeats.

CBS also will delay the season premiere of its sophomore hit drama "The Good Wife" by a week, airing the first episode on Sept. 28, so that it can air a special two-hour season premiere of "NCIS: Los Angeles" on Sept. 21.

Also in premiere week, CBS will air a special 90-minute season opener of "The Amazing Race" on Sept. 26, beginning at 8:30. "CSI: Miami," which moves to Sunday nights this fall, will premiere on Oct. 3.

All the network's other shows will premiere within this year's traditional premiere week of Sept. 20-26.

Separately, CBS said it has picked up "Chaos" for midseason. Brett Ratner and Tom Spezialy are the executive producers for 20th Century Fox Television.

Starring Freddy Rodriguez, Eric Close, James Murray, Tim Blake Nelson and Carmen Ejogo, "Chaos" is a comedy-drama centered on "a group of rogue CIA spies in the Office of Disruptive Services (ODS), who combat threats to national security amidst bureaucratic gridlock, rampant incompetence and political infighting," according to CBS.
