The struggling Las Vegas economy is about to get a boost from CBS.
"Let’s Make a Deal" executive producer Mike Richards told TheWrap today that the network’s revival of the classic gameshow will tape in Sin City. He wouldn’t say where just yet– a deal is being finalized, apparently– but it seems a safe bet that the show will utilize a Vegas hotel.
New "Deal" host Wayne Brady certainly shouldn’t object to taping his new show in Las Vegas. He’s currently headlining the successful one-man show "Making %@it Up" at the Venetian Hotel.
But Richards said Las Vegas isn’t just convenient for Brady’s schedule.
The tourist mecca attracts a wide variety of potential contestants, and the town’s vibe of risk and adventure fits perfectly with a bet-it-all show such as "Deal," Richards said.
Most network gameshows have traditionally taped in Los Angeles or New York, many at CBS Television City.
