CBS has signed talent holding deals with three actors following their performances at January’s Diversity Comedy Showcase, including a deal for a lead role in the pilot for the upcoming “How I Met Your Mother” spinoff “How I Met Your Dad.”
As previously reported by TheWrap, Drew Tarver has signed on for a role on “How I Met Your Dad,” playing Todd, the best friend and college roommate of Sally (Greta Gerwig) who is now married to Sally’s brother. Tarver, a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade Harold Team, has appeared on “Animal Practice” and “Newsreaders,” and has created and starred in a number of “Funny or Die” videos.

CBS has also signed a talent holding deal with Haneefah Wood (pictured), who’s appeared in the Broadway productions of “Rent,” “Avenue Q” and “Brooklyn.” Wood’s television credits include appearances on “White Collar,” “Nurse Jackie” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.”
Finally, Nico Santos has signed a talent holding deal with CBS. Santos, who made his television debut on 2011’s “Pride Comedy Jam” and has since appeared on “Chelsea Lately” and TBS’s “Ground Floor.”
