Casey Affleck will star in and direct the indie drama “Light of My Life,” an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.
He also wrote the survival movie, of which plot details are being kept under wraps.
Affleck’s most recent project, “Manchester by the Sea,” is currently being shown at the Toronto International Film Festival and is receiving praise. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, where it was acquired by Amazon Studios for a hefty $10 million.
Amazon then partnered with Roadside Attractions for a theatrical release in November.
The actor last directed “I’m Still Here,” the faux documentary that focused on Joaquin Phoenix‘s rap career. His other most recent credits include “Triple 9” alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor, Anthony Mackie, Aaron Paul and Kate Winslet; and “The Finest Hours” with Chris Pine and Ben Foster.
No details regarding producer, financier or a production-start date have been revealed for “Light of My Life.”
