The glamorous French film festival celebrates its 76th year with a cavalcade of Hollywood stars, film legends and celebrities from around the globe

One of cinema’s glitziest events is underway in France this week: the 76th Cannes Film Festival. This year’s fest features a lineup that includes Wes Anderson’s “Asteroid City,” “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” Pixar’s “Elemental” and Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon,” and kicked off Tuesday, May 16 with the controversial choice to premiere the Johnny Depp film “Jeanne du Barry” as the opening title.

 

But Cannes isn’t just known for the films — or the controversy — it’s also a hallmark of Hollywood glamor and high fashion, and in keeping, stars from around the globe took to the Croisette for the 2023 opening ceremony dressed to the nines.
