The Canadian producers of a miniseries about the Kennedy family says it’s historically accurate and that they are pursuing a new U.S. broadcaster now that History Channel has dropped the eight-part special.

The $30-million production, starring Greg Kinnear and Katie Holmes, (pictured below, on set) was meant to be the U.S.-based History Channel’s first big-budget, scripted program.
That changed last week when the History Channel pulled the Toronto-shot miniseries from its schedule, saying it did not fit their brand.
Canadian-based History Television says it will air the project as planned in the spring.
