James Cameron is returning to Pandora. The "Avatar" director said that he is considering filming parts two and three of a possible trilogy based on his mega-grossing science fiction film back to back. First though, Cameron wants to write a novel based on the movie.
"I didn't want to do a cheesy novelization," Cameron tells MTV. "I wanted to do something that was kind of a legitimate novel that goes inside the characters' heads. Ideally that becomes a kind of bible for any other writers that want to come along and want to riff off other 'Avatar' based stories. "
Cameron notes that he won't get behind the camera until the deals are in place at Fox, and seeing as how much lucre the first film brought the NewsCorp. gang, it's save to assume the director stands to make a pretty penny by revisiting the blue skinned aliens.
But he's working out some possible scenarios for what might befall Jake Sully and company in the next go round.
"I'm making notes. I'm not sitting idle," Cameron assures MTV.
