Cameron Bailey has been named artistic director of the Toronto International Film Festival, the organization said Wednesday.
Bailey was formerly co-director of the festival. His new position does not dramatically alter his responsibilities.

Piers Handling, director and CEO of TIFF, portrayed the move as part of a larger push to make the organization more than an annual celebration of film.
“Today’s announcement is part of our ongoing efforts to become a fully integrated year-round film institution,” said Handling. “While Cameron’s responsibilities remain unchanged, I believe that his new title will support our efforts to streamline and integrate our programming across all divisions within the organization.”
Bailey and Noah Cowan, artistic director of TIFF Bell Lightbox, will share responsibility for all programming.
