Caleb Logan Bratayley, the 13-year-old YouTube star who died last Thursday, passed away from a previously “undetected medical condition,” his parents have revealed.
“Caleb’s death has raised many questions about how and why this could happen to a seemingly healthy boy,” the family wrote on Instagram Monday night. “Sadly, tests have confirmed today that Caleb passed away from an undetected medical conditions.”
In addition to announcing new details on Caleb’s mysterious death, the Bratayley’s announced a live stream memorial on Twitter and Periscope.
“Due to an outpouring of support and people’s hope to be part of the memorial, we have decided to live-stream the ceremony tomorrow at 8pm EDT,” the family wrote.
A spokeswoman for the Anne Arundel County, Maryland, police department told TheWrap on Monday that police responded to Bratayley’s family home in Arnold, Maryland, for a “medical emergency.” He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
There were no signs of drugs or violence, so the police were no longer investigating the death.
The family came into the public eye in 2010, when Annie began posting daily vlogs about her children, including Caleb and his younger sisters Annie and Haley. At the time of this publishing, the family’s YouTube channel has over 1.6 million subscribers.
Caleb also had his own channel, FlimsyArrow, on which he posted videos about playing the video game Minecraft. That channel has over 113,000 subscribers.
