Bruce Willis is in talks to star in "Ten," a drama that Patrick Alessandrin ("District 13: Ultimatum") will direct from a script by Skip Woods ("The A-Team"), an individual familiar with the project has confirmed to TheWrap.
Deal Central has learned that negotiations are still underway, and Willis' involvement in the picture is far from official.
Bill Block's QED Intl. has committed to co-finance the under-$35 million project with Norton Herrick, who will produce with Joe Roth ("Alice in Wonderland"), Palek Patel, Woods, Block and his QED partner Paul Hanson.
A distributor will be announced shortly, as production is scheduled to begin in December after Willis wraps Summit Entertainment's thriller "The Cold Light of Day."
Willis and Roth have a long-standing relationship, having worked together on many projects in the past, including Antoine Fuqua's "Tears of the Sun." It was Roth who persuaded Willis to sign a three-picture deal with Disney years ago, which led to him starring in the worldwide blockbusters "Armageddon" and "The Sixth Sense."
QED recently financed Ami Canaan Mann's "The Fields," while former industrialist Herrick debuted Brad Anderson's "The Vanishing on 7th Street" at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Willis will soon be seen in Robert Schwentke's "Red," which continues to enjoy strong buzz in advance of its release. The Golden Globe-winning actor recently wrapped the indie "Catch .44," and he's attached to star in Rian Johnson's "Looper" and the video game adaptation "Kane & Lynch."
Willis is represented by CAA, and his potential casting was first reported by Deadline.
