Bruce Willis is a New York man turned vigilante in the first trailer for Eli Roth’s remake of 1974’s “Death Wish.”
The trailer opens with a news report about a guy in a grey hoodie, who people are calling the grim reaper.
“He’s become a folk hero!” the newscaster tells his audiences.
Throughout the trailer, it becomes clear that law enforcement isn’t looking for the killers of his wife, who was murdered during a home invasion. Paul Kersey (Willis) seeks to find the murderers himself and trains to be a deadly killing machine, even helping out other citizens in need around the city.
“He’s a guardian angel,” another woman says about Paul Kersey after he saved her son’s life.

Roth directs the reimagining of the 1974 classic revenge thriller, which starred Charles Bronson in the lead. It was the first of a franchise titled the “Death Wish” film series, loosely based on the 1972 novel of the same name by Brian Garfield.
The 2017 remake stars Dean Norris, Jack Kesy, Vincent D’Onofrio and Mike Epps. It will hit theaters on Nov. 22.
