Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band announced a major 24-date tour for early 2016 this week, but fans hoping to see The Boss in concert might have to cough up a hefty sum of money to do so.
Forbes reported on Friday that ticketing website TiqIQ had started selling tickets before their officially on-sale of Dec. 11. According to Forbes, fans might see a spike in prices in the run-up to Jan. 16, when the tour will launch in Pittsburgh.
Prior to the on-sale date, resale tickets on TiqIQ to see Springsteen averaged about $592, with Newark, Boston and Los Angeles being the most popular cities. According to TiqIQ, the average price of tickets to his 2012 tour were about $290. Springsteen is set to play his most expensive show in Los Angeles at the L.A. Sports Arena, the cheapest of which is around $441.
The cheapest tickets appear to Springsteen’s Feb. 18 date at Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, which are selling for $82.
Tickets went on sale on ticketing websites at 10 a.m. PST, where prices are ranging from $65 to $150 at face value for the L.A. show.
In 2012, Springsteen toured on The Wrecking Ball Tour, where resale tickets sold for $288, and his priciest show was at New York’s Madison Square Garden where the cheapest ticket available was $175. The cheapest was his performance at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, where tickets averaged around $124.
The band will play their 1980 release, “The River,” entirely while celebrating the release of the box set “The Ties That Bind: The River Collection,” which was released on Dec. 4. The tour will conclude on March 17 after performing two shows in Los Angeles.
