Watch Broadway Stars Belt Out Benefit Song for Orlando LGBT Center (Video)

Lin-Manuel Miranda, Sara Bareilles, Whoopi Goldberg and Gloria Estefan join scores of artists in performance of “What the World Needs Now Is Love”

Scores of Broadway stars including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Whoopi Goldberg and Sarah Jessica Parker belt out the Burt Bacharach hit “What the World Needs Now Is Love” as part of a Broadway for Orlando benefit song released Monday.

Playbill released a video of the recording on Monday featuring stars like Sara Bareilles, Kristen Bell, Wayne Brady, Matthew Broderick, Fran Drescher, Gloria Estefan, Joel Grey, Sean Hayes, Carole King, Zachary Levi, Audra McDonald, Idina Menzel, Rosie O’Donnell, Bernadette Peters and Chita Rivera.

The song, recorded last week in Manhattan, was the work of Broadway Records, Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley.

It’s available for digital download on iTunes and the Broadway Records website, with all proceeds going to the LGBT Center of Central Florida that is coping with the aftermath with the June 12 massacre at the Orlando gay nightclub Pulse that claimed 50 lives.
