MTV Movie Awards Nominations: ‘Bridesmaids,’ ‘Hunger Games’ Top the List

Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Jennifer Lawrence, Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill and Josh Hutcherson lead individual nominees with four each

It may be ladies night at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards on June 3, as two female-driven flicks — "Bridesmaids" and "The Hunger Games" — lead all contenders with eight nominations each.

The show, which will air live on MTV from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, is once again allowing fans to choose the Movie of the Year winner, with voting open today at MTV.com and continuing through the broadcast on June 3.

Movie of the Year contenders include "Bridesmaids" and "The Hunger Games," as well as "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," "The Help" and "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1."
