Brian Williams has weighed in on many important debates over thirty-plus years in the news biz, but this is not one of them.
The “NBC Nightly News” anchor and aspiring Sir Mix-a-Lot impressionist sat down with Seth Meyers during Monday’s episode of “Late Night” and, for some reason, all he wanted to talk about was “The Bachelorette.” As it turns out, Williams is obsessed with ABC’s highly-rated reality show.

All it took was one innocent question about his daughter Allison Williams‘ invitation-only viewing party, and the newsman was off to the races.
“After tonight, Seth, I think this will be a kind of new era. We will know more,” Williams said. “Are there roadblocks? Are there IEDs in the road, in front of this show? Yes. ‘Opportunities as a homemaker in Iowa,’ hello there, red flag. Um, ‘if my mom doesn’t like you, it’s a no go’ — red flag numero dos.
“We have nicknames for [all of the finalists, but] not all of them are suitable for family viewing, even at this hour,” he continued. “A lot of them based on hair: hair preferences, fear of losing their hair.”

So which contestant does Williams want to win the heart (and rose) of this year’s stop-happy Bachelorette, Andi Dorfman?
“Just as I wouldn’t speculate going into an election night, I can’t speculate on the outcome … except to say Andi, we’re with you, we realize this season has been one of heartache, great travel and adventure, fabulous hotel suites,” Williams said. “But what a season, I think you’ll agree.”
Andi and her remaining suitors are heading off to a romantic getaway in the Dominican Republic on the July 14 episode of “The Bachelorette.” We can’t wait to hear Williams’ recap.
