Bret Baier Signs New Contract With Fox News

“Special Report” anchor signs new multi-year contract

Fox News "Special Report" anchor Bret Baier has signed a new, multi-year with the network, it announced Tuesday. No terms were disclosed.

"Specal Report," which Baier took over from Brit Hume in January 2009, is the number-one show in the 6-7 p.m. time slot, averaging more than 2.4 million viewers. In November it was the the second-highest-rated program in cable news among total viewers. 

Baier also co-anchored Fox News Channel’s midterm election night coverage with Megyn Kelly, earnig 7 million viewers to beat all broadcast and cable news outlets combined.

Baier's interviews have included President Obama, former President George W. Bush, former Vice President Dick Cheney, Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine and Gen. David Petraeus.

“Bret’s integrity and hard-nosed approach to journalism has made him a go-to source for political news coverage," said Fox News Senior Vice President of News Editorial Michael Clemente. "We look forward to his strong presence on the network for years to come.”
