For those who think Walter White (Bryan Cranston) must have survived the “Breaking Bad” series finale in light of all this talk of a big-screen movie, think again.
“Isn’t Walter White dead?” “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie asked Cranston, who stopped by the NBC morning show on Tuesday to promote his Broadway play adaptation of “Network.”
“Yes!” Cranston responded. “What are they gonna show me on a slab or something? That’s not exciting.”
And in case you were wondering, Cranston says he still hasn’t seen a script for the much-discussed movie.
“There’s a lot of hyperbole swirling around that whole thing,” he told Guthrie and Hoda Kotb.
When asked point-blank if he would want to do it, Cranston said this: “I’d love to do a ‘Breaking Bad’ movie, but I’m doing Broadway now and that’s gonna go until March.”

News broke last week series creator Vince Gilligan is working on a “Breaking Bad” film. A day later, Slashfilm reported that the focus will be on White’s co-conspirator, Jesse Pinkman.
Slashfilm also reported that Aaron Paul will be reprising his role for the movie. Fans had already begun to speculate that the film might be about Jesse, because the Albuquerque Journal, which first reported on the film, said it would “track the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom.”
