“Breaking Bad” and “Under the Dome” star Dean Norris leads an ensemble cast in History’s new six-hour scripted miniseries “Sons of Liberty,” the network said Wednesday.
Norris will play Benjamin Franklin in the series, which tells the story of the men who sparked the American Revolution. The actor is joined by Ben Barnes (“The Chronicles of Narnia”) as Samuel Adams, Henry Thomas (ABC’s “Betrayal”) as John Adams, Michael Raymond James (HBO’s “True Blood”) as Paul Revere, Rafe Spall (“Prometheus,” “Life of Pi”) as John Hancock, and Ryan Eggold (NBC’s “The Black List”) as Joseph Warren.

“From the Boston Tea Party to the Declaration of Independence, ‘Sons of Liberty’ will tell the rebellious story of America’s greatest fight for freedom,” History exec VP Dirk Hoogstra said in a statement. “History continues its commitment to bring viewers historical drama based on real events that have shaped our past, while capturing the spirit of the time. Adams, Hancock, Revere, are famous names in our history books, and ‘Sons of Liberty will bring their stories to life.”
