Bradley Cooper’s Rocket Raccoon Steals the Show in New ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Trailer (Video)

Pint-sized anthropomorph carries a big gun, a bigger attitude and has absolutely no faith in Chris Pratt as the team’s fearless leader

The more we see of him, the more we’re certain that Bradley Cooper‘s Rocket Raccoon is going to steal the show when “Guardians of the Galaxy” hits theaters on Aug. 1. The diminutive anthropomorphic raccoon carries a gun bigger than he is, and an attitude bigger than Groot.

For the record, Groot (Vin Diesel) is basically a tree, which means he’s pretty big.

Yes, “Guardians of the Galaxy” promises to be the weirdest, most offbeat entry into the Cinematical Marvel Universe, but it also promises to be a great deal of fun, as evidenced by the bevy of trailers Marvel has seen fit to throw at fans. They are doing everything they can to try and convince people to give these misfit heroes a chance.

The latest one emphasizes how much the galaxy needs the Guardians, and how very not-encouraging that is for the galaxy.

Even the Guardians aren’t so sure they can pull off whatever it is they need to do to save the galaxy. They’re barely even a team, with Rocket the first to chime in and say that their leader Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) has no idea what he’s doing. Star-Lord doesn’t do much to convince him that he has a plan … or was that “part of a plan”?

“Guardians of the Galaxy” co-stars Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, John C. Reilly, Djimon Hounsou, Benicio del Toro and Glenn Close. The Marvel Studios film was produced by Kevin Feige. James Gunn directed it from a screenplay he wrote with Nicole Perlman. Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures will release it in theaters on Friday, Aug. 1.

That means there’s plenty of time for more and more trailers! At this rate, we’ll have seen the entire picture by the time it comes out.
