“BoJack Horseman” is back — almost — and Season 3 looks like it’ll have as many tears as it does laughs. That’s pretty typical stuff for the unique animated Netflix Original.
This year, the titular horse is preparing for Oscar season and a likely win for his turn in a Secretariat biopic — but he’s still miserable. That’s also par for the course on this cartoon.
Cue ex-girlfriend and current manager Princess Caroline doing her best to turn his long-faced frown upside-down.
“You are amazing. You’re bright and you’re funny and you’re handsome and you’re talented,” she tells her suddenly prized client in the above-posted trailer. “If you can’t see that, then you’re the biggest, dumbest piece of s— in the world.”
By the end of the official teaser, there’s even some genuine optimism. Some series-appropriate pessimism: It probably won’t last.
Created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg, “BoJack Horseman” stars the voices of Will Arnett, Amy Sedaris, Alison Brie, Aaron Paul and Paul F. Tompkins.
Season 3 rolls out in its entirety July 22 on Netflix.
