Bobby Moynihan is set to depart “Saturday Night Live” after nine seasons, TheWrap has learned.

This week’s Season 42 finale, hosted by “Baywatch” star Dwayne Johnson, will be the comedian’s final episode on the NBC sketch comedy series. His departure brings an end to a long nine-year run on the show and marks a loss of one of “Saturday Night Live’s” most seasoned veterans.

The news comes as little surprise after Moynihan’s CBS sitcom “Me, Myself & I” was picked up to series earlier this month, indicating that the actor would no longer have the time to commit to “SNL.”

“Me, Myself & I” is a single-camera comedy that takes a look at one man’s life in three different time periods over the course of 50 years. Moynihan will play the character at age 40 in present day, but the character will be seen as a 14-year-old in 1991 and as a 65-year-old in 2042. Moynihan took a break from preparing for his last episode of “SNL” to promote the show at the CBS upfront presentation to ad buyers on Wednesday.

The cast also includes Jack Dylan Grazer, Brian Unger, Jaleel White, Kelen Coleman, Skylar Gray, Christopher Paul Richards, Mandell Maughan, Reylynn Caster, Sharon Lawrence and John Larroquette. Dan Kopelman created the series and will executive produce with Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor. Randall Einhorn is the director and executive producer of the pilot. The show hails from Kapital Entertainment, in association with Warner Bros. Television.
