‘Boardwalk Empire’ Actress Paz de la Huerta Arraigned for Alleged Attack on ‘The City’ Star

Star of HBO series faces several misdemeanors following alleged brawl over man

“Boardwalk Empire” actress Paz de la Huerta might have had another hit on her hands recently. Unfortunately, it could cost land her in some serious hot water.

According to court documents obtained by TheWrap, de la Huerta — who plays flapper girl Lucy Danziger on the HBO series — was arraigned on Tuesday and charged with several misdemeanors in association with an alleged physical altercation she had with Samantha Swetra, former star of the MTV reality show “The City,” last month.

Per the complaint filed by the Manhattan District Attorney on Tuesday, de la Huerta has been charged with multiple counts of third-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon, attempted assault, and harassment.

Swetra, who served as Whitney Port’s sidekick on the canceled MTV series, claims that de la Huerta punched her in the face and threw a glass at her leg, causing bleeding from Swetra’s mouth and nose, as well as cuts and bleeding on her leg. According to the complaint, the scuffle occurred at approximately 4 in the morning on March 20 at Manhattan’s Standard Hotel.

E! Online reports that the unpleasantness began when de la Huerta took a liking to Swetra’s male companion. When Swetra asked de la Huerta to step back, the fists and glasses allegedly began flying.

The actress, whose upcoming projects include the perhaps appropriately titled thriller “The Girl Is in Trouble,” is next due in court on May 19.
