Netflix has renewed family drama “Bloodline” for a second season, which will begin production later this year for a 2016 release in all Netflix territories.

The renewal comes less than two weeks after “Bloodline” premiered to great acclaim on March 20.

The series stars Kyle Chandler, Ben Mendelsohn, Norbert Leo Butz and Linda Cardellini as the Rayburns, children of Robert (Sam Shepard) and Sally (Sissy Spacek). In the first season, this dysfunctional brood began to tackle demons that stretched back decades, ultimately affecting the entire family.

From creators Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler (“Damages”), “Bloodline” is produced by KZK Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television for Netflix.
