Ryan Eggold has signed on to join the potential “Blacklist” spinoff in the works at NBC, TheWrap has learned.
Eggold plays Tom Keen on the drama series, who is the mysterious husband of Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone). He would reprise that role for the spinoff should it move forward.
“X-Men” and “Taken” star Famke Janssen will appear as Susan “Scottie” Halsted in the May 12 episode of “Blacklist,” directed by Michael Dinner. Her appearance will serve as a backdoor pilot for a new show in which Janssen would star, but a representative for NBC cautioned that no commitment for it has been made at this time.
Rumors are circulating that Halsted is the mother of Tom Keen.
“The Blacklist” stars James Spader as Raymond “Red” Reddington, formerly one of the FBI’s Most Wanted fugitives, who now works with the Bureau to identify a “blacklist” of politicians, mobsters, spies and international terrorists. He promises to help catch them with the caveat that Elizabeth Keen (Boone) continues to work as his partner.
The series, from Sony Pictures Television and Davis Entertainment, also stars Diego Klattenhoff, Harry Lennix, Amir Arison and Mozhan Marno.
Eggold is represented by Gersh, Untitled Entertainment and Hirsch Wallerstein.
