“The Blacklist” is known for leaving fans with question after question from episode to episode. But executive producer Jon Bokenkamp promises TheWrap that tonight on the Season 6 finale, you’ll be getting answers.

Well, an answer regarding the conspiracy for the President of the United States to get himself assassinated with the help of Anna McMahon. And then some more questions in the form of a “mythology bombshell.”

“I would say that we’re going to have a hopefully satisfying conclusion to the conspiracy that we’ve been trying to unravel all season. So there will be a really satisfying ending and yet it might be undercut by a bigger mythology bombshell,” Bokenkamp told TheWrap. “We’re both a standalone and a serialized show and our characters, how they are intertwined, who they are to each other, who Raymond Reddington (James Spader) is and why he entered Elizabeth Keen’s (Megan Boone) life remains to be a question that we haven’t entirely wrestled down. And so there maybe a surprise or two in terms of the larger mythology of the entire series.”

On tonight’s finale, the president’s (guest star Benito Martinez) true plan comes into focus, while Liz and the Task Force fight to avert disaster. Meanwhile, Red meets in secret with a man who holds information about his past. At least that’s the most we know about the episode at the moment, per its official description. Though we were able to pull just a little more for you out of Bokenkamp.

“What we can expect is not only for Liz to be saddled with trying desperately to help our team, our Task Force has been arrested, Anna McMahon has taken over the Post Office and Liz is somewhere missing within the facility,” Bokenkamp said. “So not only do we have that to worry about and the story of our team, but tied to that is this insane conspiracy that has been brewing for the whole season.”

“This story with Anna McMann and the president and this plot goes all the way back to the first episode of the season and at the center of it is a conspiracy,” he continued. “The President of the United States supports and is part of a conspiracy to assassinate the president of the United States. And why on earth would he do that? The Task Force still has not figured out the answer to that and I think we have a really satisfying answer to that.”

“The Blacklist” Season 6 finale airs tonight, Friday, at 8/7c on NBC.
