The reviews for Marvel’s “Black Panther” are in and they’re outstanding. They’re so good, in fact, that the movie is taking praise from some surprising places.
On Friday, the website of mega-troll Milo Yiannopoulos published a glowing review of the film, with author Ian Miles Cheong cheering “Black Panther” as “the superhero we need, and the movie we deserve.”
Yiannopoulos was kicked off Twitter in 2016 after his followers sent racist messages to African American “Saturday Night Live” star Leslie Jones.
“The movie stands among one of the best films in Marvel’s movie franchise. It’s right up there with ‘Iron Man’ and ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier,’ and for good reason,” wrote Cheong on Yiannopoulos’ website, “Dangerous.”
“If it wasn’t for the superpowers and science fiction landscape, you’d almost forget you were watching a superhero movie. While there’s enough of the otherworldly to draw you in, it’s the characters at the heart of Black Panther who drive the two-hour ride.”
“The hero is basically black Trump.” he added in additional comments on Twitter.

Just watched Black Panther. Decent flick. The villain is an SJW black supremacist. The hero’s an isolationist-nationalist who adopts a neoliberal stance. He doesn’t believe in race.

The praise is also significant because Cheong and many of the readers he speaks to had initially assumed the flick would be a trojan horse to push identity politics, considered popular among the social justice left.
“I was expecting some social justice notes, maybe a couple of heavy-handed phrases. It didn’t do that,” Cheong told TheWrap. “The hero was relatable — in fact, so was everyone else in it. The villain, too.”
