The Black List 2015 will name the best unmade screenplays in Hollywood on Monday, using actors, producers, directors and writers in the industry to unveil winners on social media.
The projects will be named on the Black List Twitter account, recruiting the likes of Maggie Gyllenhaal, Ryan Coogler, Catherine Hardwicke, Phil Lord and Chris Miller and “The Imitation Game” screenwriter Graham Moore to assist with the announcement.
A comprehensive list of scripts and loglines is expected by late morning.
Black List scripts have gone on to win three Best Picture Academy Awards in recent years, for “Slumdog Millionaire,” “The King’s Speech” and “Argo.” Current awards contenders with drafts to appear on the list include “The Revenant,” “Spotlight” and “The End of the Tour.”
Last year’s winners that were scooped up by big names including Jac Schaeffer’s “The Shower,” in which Anne Hathaway will star and produce. The comedy tells of a baby shower that turns into an alien invasion.
Barbara Streisand also said earlier in December she would direct “Catherine The Great,” from Black List winner Kristina Lauren Anderson.
