Billy Eichner has returned to the streets, this time with actor Jack Black, to promote his upcoming romantic comedy “Bros,” out in theaters Sept. 30.
“Its gonna be a hot one!” Black says when Eichner asks if he is ready to roam the streets of Hollywood to tell people to go see the film, produced by Judd Apatow.
Eichner and Black start out by asking bystanders to name a film Black has starred in to win free tickets tot the film. Two ladies cannot come up with any titles, much to Black’s agony, until one guesses “The Hangover,” but Eichner and Black simultaneously scream “No!” and run away.
The next attempt to give away free movie tickets through recognition of Black’s acting career goes to a woman and her friend, who she nudges to name a title when she can’t think of any. “Kung Fu Panda!” he says, winning a free movie ticket.
Several more encounters include the pair running into a musician whose favorite musical is “Cats,” to which Eichner says “‘Cats’ motherf–er! Deal with it!” Eichner then asks a red-haired guy if he is excited to see “Bros” and if he is an ally, to which the stranger replies “No.”
“Where’s my ally?” Eichner says, and Black comes to the rescue.
The second promotional “Billy on the Street” segment ends with Black running down the sidewalk, rainbow pride flag — trans and Black Lives Matter stripes included — draped over his shoulders like a cape.
“There he goes!” Eichner says as Black takes off on a sprint. “There’s my Bro! There’s my ally!”
