With his eyes close to welling up with tears, Billy Crystal spent much of his “The Tonight Show” appearance on Thursday talking about his late best friend, Robin Williams.

The actor and comedian eulogized Williams, who took his own life in August, earlier this month at the Emmys, an unthinkable task that he feared being unable to get through.
“It’s not even two months, and just saying, ‘He was,’ is very hard for me,” Crystal said.

It got easier to speak once Crystal turned to his fond memories and admiration for Williams, who he said had, “The greatest mind I’ve ever been around, because it was so terrifyingly fast.”
