Hey, “Big Bang Theory Fans,” were you looking forward to tuning in to a new episode of the CBS sitcom this week?
Allow Mayim Bialik to set you straight on the matter.
“Big Bang Theory” star Bialik, who stars as Amy on the comedy series, hit up Instagram with a behind-the-scenes glimpse — and informed her followers that this week’s episode would be a repeat.
“No new episode tonight,” Bialik wrote in the post, which featured Bialik peeking out from behind a door and was listed as originating from Warner Bros. Studio in Burbank, “but we’ll be back next week!!”
A press release issued by CBS earlier this month noted that Wednesday’s episode would be a rebroadcast of the Season 12 premiere of the show, “The Conjugal Configuration” – in which Sheldon and Amy’s honeymoon runs aground in New York, while Penny and Leonard discover they are uncomfortably similar to Amy’s parents.
Still, Bialik’s announcement seemed to come as news to a number of fans — and not particularly welcome news at that.
“Oh bummer!!” replied one fan.
“Wtf stop messing with my heart!” read another comment.
At least one fan, however, found the silver lining in the announcement.
“I love your updates! Now I can just read a book tonight! Thx,” read that fan’s response.
Another silver lining that fans might consider: With the series drawing to a close after its 12th and final season, at least a rebroadcast puts off the end by a week.
