Nominees for the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards – “music’s biggest night!” — were announced on CBS Wednesday – the second time nominees have been announced on live television. The show was hosted by L.L. Cool J, a two-time Grammy winner whose last one came in 1996.
Beyoncé received 10 nominations. Black Eyed Peas, Kanye West and R&B star Maxwell each nabbed six, while Jay-Z and Lady Gaga — driven by her ubiquitous "Poker Face" — scored five.
Maxwell, whose "Pretty Wings" earned a nod for "Song of the Year," performed a show-stopping version of Michael Jackson’s "The Lady in My Life."
