Poor Saul Goodman — it looks like either the pay phone he’s trying to use isn’t working, or he’s fresh out of change.
AMC has released the key art for its upcoming “Breaking Bad” prequel “Better Call Saul,” depicting ethically-challenged lawyer Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) out in the middle of the desert, leaning against a pay phone, its handset dangling from its cord. (Guess we know why Goodman eventually decided to amass a drawer full of burner cell phones.)
The network has also unveiled a new teaser for the series, depicting Goodman’s white Cadillac, with its infamous “LWYR UP” license plate, emerging from a car wash.
“Better Call Saul,” from “Breaking Bad” duo Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, is set six years before Goodman meets Walter White. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny and hustling to make ends meet.
The new series premieres Sunday, Feb. 8 at 10 p.m. on AMC, with a second episode airing the following night at 10.
