‘Better Call Saul,’ ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ and ‘McMafia’ Renewed by AMC

TCA 2018: Miniseries “The Little Drummer Girl” starring Michael Shannon, Alexander Skarsgård and Florence Pugh sets premiere month

AMC has renewed “Fear the Walking Dead” and “Better Call Saul” for fifth seasons and “McMafia” for a Season 2, it was announced Saturday at the Television Critics Association summer 2018 press tour.

The network also announced that its miniseries “The Little Drummer Girl” will premiere in November.

“Better Call Saul” gets its pick-up just before the Season 4 premiere on August 6. The “Breaking Bad” prequel is executive produced by Peter Gould, Vince Gilligan, Mark Johnson, Melissa Bernstein, Thomas Schnauz and Gennifer Hutchison. A Sony Pictures Television and AMC Studios co-production and created by Gilligan and Gould, the series stars Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, Rhea Seehorn, Patrick Fabian, Michael Mando and Giancarlo Esposito.

“Fear the Walking Dead” is getting renewed before the second half of Season 4 returns to AMC on August 12. Produced by AMC Studios, the “Walking Dead” spinoff is executive produced by Scott M. Gimple, showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg, as well as Robert Kirkman, David Alpert, Gale Anne Hurd and Greg Nicotero. Season 4 has seen “Walking Dead” star Lennie James join the cast of Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo, Danay Garcia, along with show newcomers Garret Dillahunt, Maggie Grace and Jenna Elfman.

Inspired by Misha Glenny’s best-selling book of the same name, the crime thriller “McMafia” was created by Hossein Amini and James Watkins. The series is co-produced by the BBC, AMC and Cuba Pictures, in association with Twickenham Studios, and distributed internationally by BBC Worldwide.

The six-part mini-series “The Little Drummer Girl” stars Michael Shannon, Alexander Skarsgård and Florence Pugh, and is co-produced by the BBC, AMC and The Ink Factory, in partnership with 127 Wall. Simon Cornwell and Stephen Cornwell will executive produce with John le Carré, Mona Qureshi for the BBC, Joe Tsai and Arthur Wang for 127 Wall, Wonjo Jeong and Park Chan-wook. The series will be distributed internationally by Endeavor Content.
