Dennis Shields, the on-and-off boyfriend of “Real Housewives of New York City” star Bethenny Frankel, was found dead at his Trump Tower residence on Friday of a suspected overdose, according to multiple media reports.
The New York Post reported that Shields asked his assistant to administer Narcan, used to reverse opioid overdoses, to him at approximately 9 a.m., because Shields believed he was overdosing.
Citing sources, TMZ said Shields is believed to have overdosed on oxycodone.
The New York Police Department confirmed to TheWrap that police responded to a 911 call regarding an unconscious male at approximately 9:19 a.m., and discovered a 51-year-old male “unconscious and unresponsive.”
“EMS responded and pronounced the male deceased on scene,” the department said, adding that the New York City medical examiner “will determine the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing.”
Police said they were withholding the identity of the victim pending family notification.
