And the award for last week’s most-tweeted television show goes to… the 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards!
The Viacom cable channel’s awards show topped all TV series and specials last week on Twitter, according to Nielsen. The BET Hip Hop Awards generated 2.665 million tweets from 520,000 unique authors — both tops for the week.
And those two metrics aren’t even what Nielsen ranks its Twitter TV Ratings by: The special’s Unique Audience of 7.079 million Twitter users bested No. 2 “The Walking Dead” (4.873 million) by more than two million people. The AMC zombie show was also second in authors (206,000) and tweets (511,000) for the week.

Third on the list measuring Oct. 13 through Oct. 19 was “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” which was followed by “WWE Monday Night Raw” (4) and “Scandal” (5), two other social mainstays.
“Dancing With the Stars,” “The Voice” (twice), “Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood” and “How to Get Away With Murder” rounded out the full Top 10.
