Benedict Cumberbatch is apparently traditional when it comes to love, so he opted to announce his engagement in The Times newspaper.

The 38-year-old actors’s engagement to 36-year-old theatre director Sophie Hunter was announced Wednesday in The Times’ births, deaths, and forthcoming marriages section.

“Mr BT. Cumberbatch and Miss S.I. Hunter: The engagement is announced between Benedict, son of Wanda and Timothy Cumberbatch of London, and Sophie, daughter of Katharine Hunter of Edinburgh and Charles Hunter of London.”
