While the first trailer for director and star Ben Stiller‘s “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” was pretty much just a collection of pretty images accompanied by pretty music, the second actually informs potential audiences as to what the movie is about.
Stiller plays title character Mitty, a Life magazine employee, who has always dreamed of going on big “noteworthy” adventures, but never actually has. That all changes, however, the day he realizes he’s missing a cover photo for the final issue of the magazine.

The latest look at the fantasy film features a few of Mitty’s familiar daydreams, some new ones (which may or may not also be daydreams), as well as an awkward encounter with Kristen Wiig that every moviegoer has seen numerous times before. Girl says hi to guy with crush on her, guy with crush on her says hi back, but then realizes she was never saying hi to him at all, as her friend was approaching from behind him.

Sean Penn‘s role as Mitty’s adventurous inspiration also gets a little more clarity, while Shirley MacLaine and Kathryn Hahn make an appearance as Mitty’s family pushing him to go into the wild after the missing photo.
“Walter Mitty,” which premiered at the New York Film Festival over the weekend, hits theaters on Christmas Day.
