Warner Bros. will release Ben Affleck‘s “Live by Night” on Christmas Day, 2015, while Clint Eastwood‘s musical “Jersey Boys” will hit theaters on June 20, 2014.
“Live by Night” is based on the crime novel by Dennis Lehane and will serve as Affleck’s follow-up to “Argo,” which won an Oscar for Best Picture. Affleck is producing and starring in the film.

It’s possible that “Live by Night” could find itself up against Disney’s “Star Wars: Episode VII,” which has been rumored for a late 2015 release. At this point, the only film actually slotted for that time period is Fox’s “Kung Fu Panda 3,” penciled in for Dec. 23.
Affleck also stars opposite Henry Cavill in “Batman vs. Superman,” which WB will release on July 17, 2015.
The Eastwood-directed “Jersey Boys” based on a Tony-winning Broadway musical based on Frankie Valli’s band the Four Seasons.
The release date set Tuesday will pit “Jersey Boys” against Kevin Hart‘s “Think Like a Man Too” from Sony, and lands it one week after Sony’s “22 Jump Street” and the animated Fox’s “How to Train Your Dragon 2.” Paramount’s “Transformers: Age of Extinction” opens the next week.
