Ratings: ‘The Bachelorette’ Blasts Off as Luke P Heads Home
ABC wins yet another Monday with its hit summer dating show
last week, NBC finished in second, though the competition for ratings gold wasn’t all that close. Hannah Brown’s search for love on TV rose 13% in the key adults 18-49 demographic week to week. The bump in total viewers was roughly half that.
ABC was first in ratings with a 1.3 rating/7 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 5.3 million, according to preliminary numbers. “The Bachelorette” from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. posted a 1.7/9 in the main demo. At 10, “Grand Hotel” managed a 0.6/3 and 3.1 million viewers.
NBC was second in ratings with a 0.8/4 and in viewers with 4.3 million. At 8, “American Ninja Warrior” put up a 0.9/4 and 4.5 million viewers. “Dateline NBC” at 10 received a 0.7/3 and 3.8 million viewers.
Fox and Telemundo tied for third in ratings, both with a 0.5/3. Fox was fourth in total viewers with 2.2 million, Telemundo was fifth with 1.4 million.
For Fox, “Beat Shazam” at 8 had a 0.6/3 and 2.5 million viewers. At 9, “So You Think You Can Dance” got a 0.5/2 and 2 million viewers.
CBS was fifth in ratings with a 0.4/2 and third in viewers with 2.9 million. “Love Island” at 8 managed a 0.5/3 and 2.1 million viewers. At 9, “The Code” settled for a 0.3/2 and 3.2 million viewers. The network ended its primetime block with a rerun.
Univision and The CW tied for sixth in ratings, both with a 0.3/2. Univision was sixth in total viewers with 1.1 million, CW was seventh with 1 million.
For The CW, “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” received a 0.3/1 and 1.2 million viewers. At 9, “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” got a 0.2/1 and 902,000 viewers; it was followed by an encore.
“The Bachelorette” said goodbye to Luke P and hello to 6.4 million viewers on Monday, leading ABC to another easy primetime victory.
