Ratings: ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Rises From Premiere, But Can’t Touch ‘American Ninja Warrior’

NBC finishes No. 1 outright against CBS reruns

“American Ninja Warrior” put up a strong Monday night versus CBS reruns, as NBC comfortably topped its competition outright.

ABC’s “Bachelor in Paradise” managed to rise 15 percent from its premiere this time around in the key 18-49 demographic. The network’s “The Whispers” fell, however, while CW’s “Penn & Teller” and “Whose Line?” both ticked up one-tenth of a ratings point.

NBC was first in ratings with a 1.8 rating/6 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 6 million, according to preliminary numbers. “American Ninja Warrior” at 8 p.m. earned a 2.0/7 and 7 million viewers. “Running Wild With Bear Grylls” at 10 received a 1.4/5 and 4 million viewers.

ABC was second in ratings with a 1.0/3 and third in viewers with 3.7 million. “Bachelor in Paradise” at 8 posted a 1.5/6 and 5 million viewers. “After Paradise” at 9 had a 0.8/3 and 3.3 million viewers. At 10, “The Whispers” got a 0.6/2 and 2.7 million viewers.

CBS and Fox tied for third in ratings with a 0.9/3. CBS was second in total viewers with 5.3 million, airing just repeats; Fox was fourth with 3.4 million. For Fox, “So You Think You Can Dance” was the only show on the schedule.

Univision and Telemundo tied for fifth in ratings with a 0.7/2. Univision was fifth in total viewers with 1.9 million; Telemundo was seventh with 1.6 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.5/2 and sixth in viewers with 1.8 million. “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” at 8 had a 0.6/2 and 2.3 million viewers. “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” at 9 got a 0.5/2 and 1.8 million viewers. “Significant Mother” at 10 received a 0.3/1 and 807,000 viewers.
