Awkwafina will follow-up her breakout summer by hosting “Saturday Night Live” this weekend, and the host is ready to bring the party in her first promo.
Sporting a fur coat and sunglasses, the “Crazy Rich Asians” and “Oceans 8” star drinks champagne straight from the bottle and wields a fistful of cash in the clip, eventually having to fend off noted white man Beck Bennett from co-opting her slow-motion spotlight.
Awkwafina is set to host the Oct. 6 installment of “SNL” alongside musical guest Travis Scott.
The appearance will make her the first Asian woman to host the NBC sketch comedy show in nearly 20 years, and only the second ever after Lucy Liu’s appearance in 2000.
Last week’s season premiere featured “Star Wars” star Adam Driver as host and Kanye West as musical guest, as well as a surprise appearance by Matt Damon as embattled Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
