Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Doomsday” has started production.
And to honor the super-heroic moment, Marvel Studios hosted a livestream of … chairs. Now, mind you, they are director-type chairs with the name of the actors on the back, and in an over-six-hour livestream the main “Doomsday” cast was revealed. The whole thing wrapped up with Robert Downey, Jr., appearing in person and sitting down in the final seat. He will be the big bad, Doctor Doom, in the new movie.
The cast includes:

Watch the chair reveal, below.
How long will this livestream go on? And what will be left of us by the time it’s over? Only one way to find out – hang in there and watch the chairs!
“Avengers: Doomsday” sees the return of some Marvel Studios titans – it will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, who helmed “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame,” two of the most popular movies of all time. It will also reunite them with Robert Downey Jr., who instead of playing Tony Stark/Iron Man, will be filling the role of Victor von Doom aka Doctor Doom. (“Doomsday,” get it?) Stephen McFeely, another Russo Brothers regular and co-screenwriter of their “Avengers” movies, will also return to the project.
Plus, Marvel has already announced the sequel to “Avengers: Doomsday,” which will again be helmed by the Russos and feature Downey, entitled “Avengers: Secret Wars.” That movie will be out a year after “Doomsday.”
“Avengers: Doomsday” hits theaters on May 1, 2026, while “Avengers: Secret Wars” will arrive on May 7, 2027.
