Tony Stark’s artificially-intelligent assistant J.A.R.V.I.S. finally has a body.
Entertainment Weekly has released the first good look at new “Avengers: Age of Ultron” character The Vision — actor Paul Bettany’s first physical appearance in the Marvel movie universe after voicing Stark’s trusted computer program since the first “Iron Man” movie.
The Vision is a creation of the movie’s eponymous villain, Ultron (James Spader), whom the Avengers can thank Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) for bringing into the world.
A “synthezoid” of J.A.R.V.I.S., The Vision is promptly destroyed by Ultron during his rebellion from human control.
Will the Avengers — a team which also includes Thor (Chris Hemsworth), the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Captain America (Chris Evans) — be able to convince Ultron’s powerful new weapon to join the fight against him?
Audiences will find out how director Joss Whedon incorporates the character into the billion-dollar franchise when “Age of Ultron” hits theaters on May 1.
